We’re currently looking for some help wrapping up the engineering design for the project. My regular clients’ projects have been moving forward and demanding most of my time.
But very good progress has been made. I developed the seismic design criteria using available online mapping tools, and modeled the building as a concrete moment frame. After consulting with the architect and another structural engineer, we decided to simplify the structure to be more in sync with the typical construction skills in San Sebastian, the village where the health center is to be built. Goodbye concrete moment frames. Hello concrete shear walls!
