Conceptual, schematic, & final structural design including extensive value engineering.
Project description:
Design competition winners for the new home for the Lewis & Clark Exploratory Center in Darden-Towe Park, Charlottesville, Virginia…
Notes:
Curry & Associates is the structural engineer for the design-build team that won the Lewis & Clark Exploratory Center competition. Contractor Mathers Construction and architects Hays Ewing Design Studio rounded out the team for the building. We explored multiple structural systems to achieve the awesome design vision, while the contractor kept a close eye on the overall design and construction costs. Result? A fabulous project. You can find more information about the Lewis & Clark Exploratory Center of Virginia at www.lewisandclarkvirginia.org, and check out the design of the building and site at www.lewisandclarkvirginia.org/vision.html.
